the Big Day

Well, my daughter is now a married woman..as of…2 hours ago. She married the scum who’s caused my family nothing but pain since he showed his face. We didn’t go. Hubby, me nor my son showed our faces. I’m sure there will be plenty of questions, plenty of “you should have’s” issued when other family members see me, but you know what, I don’t care.
I held my ground, I didn’t back down just to please everybody else. I at least let my daughter have a drama free wedding day although I’m positive the rest of her life will not be drama free.

I completely agree with you. I think he is VERY good at undermining her self-esteem although she says it’s “love” and the reason he does these things is because he “doesn’t want to hurt her” GAG!!!
I also hope she figures it out before kids are involved, but I have this sinking feeling that she’ll stay no matter what. He’s brow beat her so much that she feels she can’t do better.

Oh no. I thought that when I saw her commenting on your FB that maybe something had worked out better…
She’s made such a huge, huge mistake. She’ll regret it later. I can promise you that. I married my first husband at the courthouse when I was 18 – my family was not there. I always felt bad about that. I just hope she gets out of this before there are children involved. Unfortunately, I think he’s very good at undermining her self-esteem.
